1987 - 88-: Nobody

And now I am stronger
The memories no longer
Enough to keep my feet upon the ground,
For the lesson that you taught me
And the misery you brought me
Weren't enough to stop me turn myself around.

I'll beat you at the game
That you tried to play,
I'll make you rue the day
That you walked away,
Cos nobody, but nobody,
Behaves that way with me.

Now I'm not so prone to fooling
And my temper isn't cooling,
Revenge is just the sweetest thing I've known.
I'm not really out to get you
I'd quite happily forget you
But I want to show you quite how much I've grown.

I'll beat you at the game
That you tried to play,
I'll make you rue the day
That you walked away,
Cos nobody, but nobody,
Behaves that way with me.

Time won't stop for anyone
And memory's a loaded gun,
But I'm not about to turn and shoot myself.
Now my heart's no longer bleeding
You're an open book for reading
But I'd rather put you back up on the shelf.

[Note: no date on this other than a vague year]
